About Devcation'23
Solving for Sustainability!
Devcation is a week-long technical festival organized by Google Developer Student Clubs - Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women that celebrates diversity in the TechForGood Domain. During the week, we have the Devcation'23 hackathon with two tracks: Design & Solve and Hack & Solve.
The tech fiesta doesn't end here, we have two mini-events, Ideating Solutions and Logo Making, to ensure you know to ideate, brand, and holistically build your tech products! Along with this, we will have various knowledge-imparting and super fun recreational sessions. This event will act as a platform to attain knowledge and collaborate on projects and gain mentorship from the experts. It will help beginners to kickstart their technical journey!

The theme for Devcation'23 is “Sustainable Technology” based on “United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals”. All products developed should be under this problem statement.
Our aim is to encourage young developers to think out of the box and motivate them to ideate, design and develop technology that is inclusive, helps in reducing inequalities and makes the planet a better place to live in. Through Devcation 2.0 we the students of IGDTUW, which is an icon for women empowerment, also aim to encourage all women developers to showcase their skills in our annual event.

What is an Ideathon, Designathon and Hackathon?
Devcation 2.0 is a festival where tech-enthusiasts come together for a week to learn, explore, share ideas and find innovative solutions to everyday problems! An Ideation is where you ideate and present your solution, a Designathon is where you design and present a user-interface for your solution and a hackathon is where you present a working prototype of your solution, all supported by workshops and mentors.

Who can contribute?
If you're a tech enthusiast, designer or just someone who has some creative solutions and product ideas, we'd love to have you at Devcation 2.0! Whether you’re undergrad or graduate, we believe you can get something out of the event.

Do I need any past experience?
No, the event is beginner friendly and participants with no development experience are also encouraged to learn and participate. Non-programmmers or designers are most welome to participate the Ideathon, Designathon and to attend all our workshops, games and networking events!

How much does it cost to participate in Devcation 2.0?
Nothing! It is absolutely free of cost.

How to participate in Devcation 2.0?
You can make sumissions to the Designathon and Hackathon in teams of 1-4. However, making a submission is not mandatory, you can be a part of this festival by attending working, netowking events, fun sessions and games!
